Why is Aphrodite sending me
potential dates that do not match my profile settings?
Aphrodite will match your profile with profiles of other members.
The success of each match is rated in percentage. A higher percentage indicates
that the profile meets most of your requirements, while a lower percentage
indicates that the profile meets only a few of your requirements. For a better
match, we advise that you edit the criteria you specified in your profile settings.

How does Aphrodite work?
Aphrodite is IwantU’s matchmaker. She takes the information about
you and your ideal date criteria and then uses it to match you up with other members
on IwantU.
To get the best match from Aphrodite, we always suggest editing your profile to be
as specific as possible so that she can tailor her matches to your preferences.
To customize Aphrodite, click on the SETUP APHRODITE link on the left hand side
of the screen.
Click on the FIND ME A DATE link to have Aphrodite suggest members to you.
Finally, Aphrodite also provides love advice for your toughest questions.
To ask Aphrodite a question, simply click on the ASK FOR ADVICE link on the
left hand side of the screen and then compose your question. Please note that only
VIP members can consult Aphrodite.
You may also read Aphrodite’s responses to previous love dilemmas by clicking on a month
link on the left hand side of the screen.

How do I stop Aphrodite matches?
Please note that only VIP members can have Aphrodite turned off and have
the option of turning her back on at their own convenience.

How do I find other members?
-You can search for profiles by clicking on the -BROWSE-
button in the menu, and then entering the criteria you wish to search for.
-Our Aphrodite feature will regularly send you a list of members that meet the criteria
you have specified in your profile.
-A searchable archive of member pictures is available by clicking on the -CAF?-
button and selecting the GALLERY option.
-You can also find members in the chat rooms. Click on the CAF? button and select
the CHAT option to access the chat rooms.
-You can find a specific member by clicking on the -WHO- button. This feature will
show you the last time this member accessed the system and will provide you with a link
to their profile.

How do I start browsing?
To start browsing you will need to click on the BROWSE button
and from there you will be able to select the preferences you desire. You will need to
specify your selections or just leave them blank if you have no preferences. Once you have
filled in all your preferences you are just a button away from receiving your matches.
Just click on the BROWSE PROFILES button and the fun begins!!
- For a more specified search you can click on the DETAILED SEARCH button where you
can choose from a wider range of categories such as culture, beliefs etc.
Need to start your search all over again? All you need to do is click on the NEW SEARCH
link where you will be able to start from scratch.

How do I browse profiles only from my area?
-To view the profiles closest to your area you can select from a
certain range in distance. Just make sure that you fill this out right under the
country selection option.
This option is only available to US and Canadian members.

How do I obtain host privileges?
Only VIP members can obtain chat host privileges. If you are a
VIP member, you need to send a private message to the Admin from the chatroom requesting
your host privileges.
The Admin is there every week-day from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

How do I host my own chat room?
As a VIP member, you can host your own chat room. To have your
own chat room created, email the name, the subject and a description of your room to
chat@iwantu.com.

How do I send a Postcard?
To send a postcard to another member, you must first choose the card
you would like to send.
Once you have selected the card you wish to send, you can go to Step 2 which is to choose
your postcard soundtrack.
Step 3 requires you to compose your message.
Finally, Step 4 requires you to then enter in your name and email address as well as the
name and email address of the recipient.
You may preview your postcard before you send it by clicking on the PREVIEW CARD BEFORE
SENDING button.

How do I access the Chat?
To access the chat, simply click on the CAF? button located
at the top of the screen.
You should then be presented with several different chat rooms to choose from.
Click on the chat room which you wish to chat in.
A new window will open. This is the chat window which you will use to communicate
with other members in the chat rooms.

How do I get my message to appear on the Chat screen?
To chat with other members, type your text in the bar at the
bottom of the window and press the ENTER or RETURN key on your keyboard.

To chat privately with another member, select the member by
clicking on their handle name with your mouse.
All text that you type will be sent privately to this member.

Are there any special computer or software
requirements that I need to use IwantU’s Chat?
In order to access the chat you need a browser that can support
JAVA such as Internet Explorer version 4.0 or Netscape Navigator version 3 or higher.

Are there any specific rules to follow when chatting?
IwantU has created the chatrooms for its members. In order to
maintain a fun atmosphere for everyone we have set some Mandatory and Discretionary Rules.
All Members MUST:
- Not flood the room with repeated messages
- Not try to cause disruption in the room
- Not use foul language in the Lobby , also must be semi-moderate in some of the other rooms
- Not threaten or harass any member
- Hosts may only kick members after providing repeated warning
- Hosts may NOT ban any member from the room unless authorized to do so
- Hosts may not revoke another host’s privileges

How do I access my messages?
All of those important and exciting IwantU member messages
are stored in what is called your MAILBOX.
Should you wish to access your IwantU messages you can do so two ways:
1) By logging into IwantU and then clicking on the MAILBOXicon at the top of the screen
2) You may access your IwantU MAILBOXon the My IwantU page by clicking on the
link in the menu bar on the left hand side of the screen telling you that you have X number
of new messages in your mailbox.

How does the Token system work?
The IwantU message system works with Tokens. It now costs 100 Tokens
per contact you wish to write to, including unlimited messages sent to that specific contact.
You can then write to that member as much as you like without worrying about
anything else!
A contact is one member whom you wish to correspond with and the cost of adding that member
to your HOTLIST is 100 Tokens.
To purchase a member’s contact you must add them to your HOTLIST.

How do I send a message?
Once you have added a member to your HOTLIST you may then start to
become friends by writing them a message.
Underneath your HOTLIST, you will see a MESSAGE COMPOSER which enables you to
send the same message to mutilple members.
After you’ve composed your message, and you’re ready to send it , check the box next to the
member’s handle and then click on SEND MESSAGE.
You may also click on the COMPOSE link located on the left hand side of the screen under
the Options title. You will then see a message writer to compose your message. When you are
ready to send your message, just click on the SEND MESSAGE button.

How do I know if I have a new message?
Your IwantU pager will notify you once daily if you have any new messages
in your IwantU MailBox, by sending a notification message to your registered email
address.
VIP members can configure their pager, to turn your pager ON or OFF
click on the -OPTIONS- button in the menu bar and select CONFIGURE PAGER from
the pull-down list.
To retrieve your messages, click on the -MAILBOX- button in the menu.

What is a HOTLIST?
The IwantU HOTLIST is a place where you save a list of your
favourite members for further contact.
To add a member to your HOTLIST, please access the profile of the member’s profile
you wish to purchase and then click on the ADD TO MY HOTLISTlink.
You may keep the contacts that you like and erase those that you no longer need.
To erase a handle that you had added to your HOTLIST, please check the box beside a
member’s handle and then click on the REMOVE button.
You may also view your collection of members in a slideshow by clicking on VIEW MY SLIDESHOW.

How do I save my important messages?
Should you wish to save a special message that another member has sent you, all
you must do is check the box next to their handle and then under the title MOVE SELECTED
MESSAGES TO: , highlight SAVE and then simply click on the MOVE button and
your message will be sent to your SAVE folder.

How do I delete a message?
To get rid of old mail that you no longer want, check off the messages you want
to trash and then under the title MOVE TO SELECTED MESSAGES TO , highlight TRASH
and then click on the MOVE button.
Please take special note that when you trash your messages they cannot be retrieved from the system.
Your trashed messages are thus permanently deleted.

How do I save a copy of my sent messages?
If you would like to keep a copy of your message, you can do so by
checking the SAVE IN OUTBOX box and a copy of that message will be sent to your

What is an IGNORE LIST?
The IGNORE LIST link is located under the Options list on the
left hand side of the screen.
Should a member bother you with unwanted , rude or otherwise inappropriate messages you have
the choice of not receiving their mail.
To stop receiving messages from a specific member by adding them to your IGNORE LIST,
you must either click on the ADD TO IGNORE LIST link in the member’s profile or in one
of their messages.

How do I cancel my membership?
Please note that as a VIP member you need to cancel your
membership on-line .
As stated in the Terms and Conditions all VIP passes automatically renew unless you cancel
your membership 48 hoursBEFORE your renewal date.
You are able to view your renewal date by clicking on the TOKENS button at any time.
To cancel you need to click on the CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP link and agree to the Terms and
Conditions.
But please note that in order to avoid any renewal problems you will need to cancel
your membership 48 hours BEFORE Your renewal date in order to avoid being charged.
Once you cancel you are automatically removed from the site and you lose any tokens, messages
and any time remaining on your account.

How can I change my profile?
Feel like describing yourself differently?
Then just click on the PROFILE button where you will be able to change everything from
your description to your orientation. Once you have finished, don’t forget to click on the

How can I hide my profile? I am receiving too many
responses!!
Responses are leaving you feeling overwhelmed?
Then why not hide your profile for a bit until you get yourself back on track.
All you need to do is scroll down the profile page and select HIDE PROFILE.
From then on your profile will remain hidden until you post it once again.

How can I post a picture with my profile?
To post a picture with your profile, click on the OPTIONS
button in the menu and select -ATTACH A PICTURE TO MY PROFILE- from the pull-down
list.
1)Click the BROWSE button
2) A small window will open with a list of files located on your computer. Select where your
picture is on your computer
3)Click UPDATE
If you are unable to upload your picture to our system, you can also email your picture to
pictures@iwantu.com.
You can change your picture anytime either by uploading a new picture, or by emailing
pictures@iwantu.com with your new picture.
If you wish to post multiple pictures, you must email your pictures to
pictures@iwantu.com
Please note that all pictures will be screened and we reserve the right to hide inappropriate
ones.
To remove your picture you need to e-mail the Admin at
pictures@iwantu.com with your request and handle.

How can I post a voice file to my profile?
If you are using Windows 95/98:

How do I change my handle name?
First, you should check if your desired handle name is available.
Click on the -WHO- button and enter the handle in the box provided. If no
profile matches the handle you entered, then the handle name is available.
All Handles should be between 4 and 10 characters , letters and numbers only and they
should always start with a letter.

from your registered email address with your present and desired handle name in quotation marks.

How do I change my registered email address?
A valid email address is required in order to access IwantU Select Clubs.
To change your email address, click on the -OPTIONS- button in the menubar and select

How do membership renewals work?
If you purchase your VIP pass by credit card or electronic check,
your VIP pass will automatically renew at your renewal period.
If you do not wish to renew your VIP pass, you must cancel your membership before the
automatic renewal date. We advise that you cancel your membership 48 hours before the
automatic renewal date to ensure that the billing department has been notified.
To cancel your membership, click on the -OPTIONS- button in the menu and select
CANCEL MEMBERSHIP from the pull-down list, fill out the form and submit. The system
will then log you out and remove you from the database.
You can purchase your VIP pass by mail, by charging the amount to your phone bill
using our 1-900 number and your VIP pass will NOT be automatically renewed, however please
note that you must renew your VIP pass each month in order to maintain your membership and
have access to your remaining tokens.

What are tokens?
- Tokens are a form of money used on IwantU. You can use your tokens to

member’s contact you will first need to add them to your hotlist. Once you add them to your
hotlist you will then be able to purchase their contact for 100 tokens. Once you have a member
on your hotlist you may send and receive as many messages to them as you please .

What are the different methods of payment available?
Presently there are 6 methods of payment available:
1)CREDIT CARD : This is done by entering your credit card details on-line using a
secure server. Please note that all VIP passes purchased by credit card are all automatically
renewed.
2)ELECTRONIC CHECK : This option is only available to US residents. It is basically
writing a check but the only difference is you are doing it on-line. Please note that this
method of payment is also automatically renewed.
3)TOLL FREE 1-800 # : This is done by calling the 1-800 number provided and letting a
Customer Care agent process your transaction for you. Please have your credit card on hand when
you call. This method of payment is automatically renewed.
4)1-900 OPTION : This is done by charging your membership to your phone bill. You will
need to call the 1-900 number provided and retrieve your PIN number. Please note that this
method of payment is only available to US residents and is NOT automatically renewed.
5)MAIL : This is done by sending your checks and money order to the mailing address
provided. This method of payment is NOT automatically renewed.
6)BY FAX : Members can upgrade to a VIP status by faxing in their credit card details.
